How Long Does It Take For Cholesterol To Bottom Out?
August 1st, I was 263 pounds and had a total cholesterol of 317. My doctor ordered meds but I told her I wanted three months. Today I just called the hospital and got my total cholesterol number from yesterdays test (I can view the breakdown online in four days).
I have lost 39 pounds (224) and my total cholesterol is 197 as of yesterday. My question is, is it likely that my cholesterol has bottomed out or is it possible that 120 point drop in 3 months is free falling and I can expect it to drop further?
The reason I ask – I know cholesterol is both diet and genetics – but I don’t know that I have a genetic predisposition to high cholesterol. My father and grandfather both had high cholesterol – but their diets were similar to mine before my change and so who knows what their numbers would have been if they ate right – you know?
Why Does Cholesterol Proponents Enthusiam Fade Fast When Mentioning The Volumes Of Cultures Who Eat Saturates?
Why does Cholesterol Theory proponents enthusiasm fade fast when you mention the fact that VOLUMES of cultures eat a diet rich in saturated fat and very little CHD to none.
Take the Tokeluans and Pukapukans of the Pacific Islands who eat coconuts at almost every meal, (which is far richer in saturated fat then animal fat) have average cholesterol levels of 240 mg/dl up to 300 mg/dl and were documented by scientists to have a complete lack of coronary artery disease.
Look it up here:

Over How Long A Time Period Of Unhealthy Eating Does It Take For Arteries To Start Becoming Clogged/blocked?
I’m asking this because I have been consuming a high-fat, high-cholesterol diet for many years and I recognize that I need to make a change (I have also been leading a sedentary life during these years). I just wonder how much irreparable damage I may have caused myself with my many, many years of unhealthy eating (I would estimate at least about 10 years). For a few months I have felt chest aches and pains so I’m very worried (I will see a doctor soon). I’m in my twenties so I hope my concerns aren’t ignored because of the low risk factor of heart problems for my age group. Thanks for your help.
Does All Cholesterol Medicine Make You Feel Crampy?
I took an statin for 2 weeks. I think it was a Zocor generic. Anyway, you know the rare but serious side effect?, I got it and I have heard that many get it…so not so rare. Anyways, I am dieting more …less fat and more veggies and doing situps and walking. Do all of these cholesterol meds do that and what causes them to do that? I noticed that my poop was lighter colored and was larger in diameter and harder when I was on the drug. What is your experience about this?
