How To Raise Hdl Level Naturally?

I’ve tried everything suggested to raise my HDL level (diet, exercise, avoiding trans fats, etc), and my HDL level is still too low and has been for at least 15 years. The dr. wants me to take prescription medcation, but I don’t want the side effects. Some have suggested Policosanol/Gugulipid or no-flush Niacin. Is one better than the other? I am currently trying Policosanol/Gugulipid but have not been taking it long enough to have my cholesterol rechecked. I ‘ve read this formula works, and I’ve read that it does NOT work. Has anyone had success with a natural remedy to raise their HDL level?

Would Fish Oil Or Omega 3 Supplements Increase Uric Acid Level?

In August, my doc told me that my cholesterol level was 248 and uric acid level was at 9.0 with blood pressure average at 150/96. As per her advice, I have gone through diet (limiting animal fat intake and eating lots of veges and fruits) and exercise (walking/running for 30 to 45 mins 4 times a week) for last 4 months. In result, I have lost 8 kg and my blood pressure went down to 138/80. However, my cholesterol has increased a bit although the uric acid level went down by 0.5. Before my doc puts me on medication, I would like to try taking some supplements and more strict diet.
Due to high uric acid, I am avoiding Herring, Mackerel, Sardines etc. However, to lower my cholesterol level, I found that many are saying that it is good to take fish oil tablets or omega 3 supplements. Would these supplements/tablets also contain high purine or uric acid? Would they increase my uric acid level? If I can take these, how much should I take them?

How To Reduce Cholesterol Level – 8.2 Without Taking Statins For Life?

Have no other high risk factors ie don’t smoke, normal blood pressure, not overweight, no genetic predisposition, liver function tests fine, not diabetic. I’m in my 50s and thought I had a fairly ok diet. Have been taking large doses of omega 3 and porage every morning. Heard of new tomato based supplement. Any suggestions?

I Have Recently Been Diagnosed With A High Triglyceride Level But My Cholesterol Level Is Normal?

I don’t eat a fatty diet really (I have maybe 1 or 2 takeaways a week) and some days I only have one meal a day. Im a little overweight but by no means obese. I was wondering if maybe this was linked to an under active thyroid condition. I also suffer with PCOS.
