Type Ii Diabetes Question About Glucose Levels?

I just found out I am Type II diabetic. My A1c is 6 and I just had a baby 3 months ago, I had gestational diabetes that did not go away after delivery. My question is about glucose levels. My doctor told me NOT to check my glucose, but instead follow the diabetic diet and exercise every day for at least 30 minutes and go back in 3 months to check my A1c, peptides (something like that, not sure), and cholesterol levels and that those will be an indicator of my glucose levels during the past 3 months. BUT, since I am very depressed and sad about the diagnosis, I want to make sure that I am doing the right thing, so I have been checking my glucose levels at home once in a while regardless of what my doctor said. My readings every morning (fasting) are between 102-110, never below that. My levels 2 hours after meals are usually around 130-145, never below that. Does anyone know if these readings are dangerous for me? I mean, if they are causing damage to my organs. I am following the diet and doing exercise but I can’t get lower readings. I won’t see my doctor until 3 months from now, and I am concerned about the probable damage that these high readings are doing to my body. I already had myopia (nearsightedness) and floaters in my eyes, and I don’t want to lose my eyesight due to high readings…Please help…sorry if I am ignorant, but I am new to this and don’t know what to do. Thanks.

How Does Coq10 Levels Deplete? Does Taking A Simvastatin (zocor) Affect Levels Of Coq10?

Last week my docotor said I had high cholesterol. I’m only a 20-year old male. However, I’m overweight at 220 pounds and 5′7. Over the past year or two, I haven’t been eating healthy. So I personally attribute my high cholesterol levels to my inactvity + poor diet. My docotor came back with my blood results and prescribed Zocor ( a simvastatin) to help lower my bad cholesterol levels.
I’m supposed to take 40 MG pill daily of this. I took my first pill tonight of 40MG. Doing some further research online, I’ve found some discomforting information regarding the ’statin’ family of drugs. I’m paticullary worried about the depletion of CoQ10 levels, which have been shown to have beneficial effects themselves. After all my research, I’ve decided I’m not going to go on the meds and just try the more “natural” route and just eat healthier and exercise.
My biggest concern is this: Will the Pill I took of 40MG affect my levels at all? If so, will the levels return to ‘normal’ considering I’m 100% discontinuing this drug? I’ll wait until more information comes out on this drug. Until then, I don’t feel safe doing so.

Reasons For Increase In Cholesterol Levels Even When You Think You Eat Reasonably Well?

I have a cholesterol level/rating of 5.7 which is moderate to high risk. A typical day’s diet:
Breakfast: a banana or oranges,
Lunch: 100% whole wheat bread w/ cheese (no margarine or butter) or 100% whole wheat bread w/ peanut butter.
Dinner: White rice w/ veggies and a meat dish (chicken wings or pork … I don’t often eat red meat) .. or some nights it’s just white rice with veggies and tofu … or white rice with spinach and salmon.
And for desert I do have a scoop of ice cream or stuff my face with watermelon.
I do snack on fruits like grapes and strawberries. I also wonder whether I can get diabetes from all this natural sugars!
Perhaps my dinner isn’t the healthiest (??) but is it the cause of increasing my cholesterol levels? This year I have been pretty lazy with my workouts so past months, I’ve only worked out once a wk versus my past 3X a wk. Hence the weight gain … but I’m curious about the increase in cholesterol level.
I’m 27, abt 5′5″ and maybe 130-135lbs

High Cholesterol And Hdl Levels?

My HDL is low andmy LDL is a touch high the same as my TG levels, which mean overall my reading is too high. Question is how do i increase my HDL level. If i do this my overall reading will come down to the acceptable levels.
My diet is fairly good already

I Had A Blood Test The Other Day To Check My Cholesterol Levels.?

A year ago it was 7, now it’s 6.4, my doctor told me I was 30% likely to have a heart attack in the next 10 years.
By taking a Symvastin pill, one every day for the rest of my life, it would reduce it to 10%. I’m 62 and still working.
He said it was my decision??
Is realise my diet has to change (yet again), and take more exercise, I’m prepared to do that.
Any advice is appreciated.
