Is There A Supplement Good For Helping With High Triglycerides?

I had my cholesterol checked this week, and my Dr. said that my good cholesterol (HDL) was high and my bad cholesterol(LDL) was low… but she said my triglycerides were high.
I’m 23 years old. I’m 5′3 and weigh about 105 lbs. I excercise regulary and eat mainly healthy.. I barely eat red meat if ever at all…
My Dr. told me it could be genetics (since my moms side of the family has high triglycerides). The only thing I can think of that would make it go kinda high is my alcohol consumption. I only drink on the weekends though if I do??
I was wondering if anyone knows of a supplement that I could take that has WORKED FOR THEM in helping in lowering triglycerides. I’m getting my cholesterol rechecked in 3 months so I’m going to lower my alchol consumption to about nothing and keep my diet and exercise, but I would like to take some sort of supplement that can help as well…..
Any suggestions from somewhere out there who has successfully lowered their triglycerides??

Is There A Way To Help?

Hi,
ok, my mom is overweight, while I am on the skinny side. her doctor told her that she needs to loose half her body weight by october (he told her this in may) and that she needed to lower her cholesterol by half too. she tried very hard in the beginning but now she is just using the excuse that she has been so busy lately that she stopped. she needs to loose the weight so she can get off of her high blood pressure pills because if you take them for too long they can be harming. i love my mom so much and i want her to live for many more years to come. are there are ways that i can help her? like things that we could do to to help her lose weight but she doesn’t know? I was going to try cooking meals more often and making portions smaller. i already hid her candy stash which isn’t that much. are there activities or extra things that i could do with her to help her with her upcoming goal without it being extremely obvious that i am helping her lose weight? she doesn’t play any sports and doesn’t bike ride by the way. and which foods if any should I elliminate from the house to help her? by the way she isn’t one of those morbidly obese people that just keep eating, she just struggles with losing the weight.
!!!!!no diet pills or surgery! so don’t suggest something like hydroxycut or lyposuction. i just want to help her.
i’m not going to shove the ideas down her throat because that simply won’t work.

My Mom Has Very High Cholesterol, But She Doesn’t Seem To Care. Is There Any Way I Can Motivate Her To Lower

her choleserol? She know the dangers of it, but she still eats greasy and deep fried foods, telling me “Only this one time” each time. She never eats helpful foods like oatmeal or Cheerios. I even put up a chart about symptoms that indicate getting a heart attack in the future (a few of which she currently has) on the refrigerator. I also bought her a magazine with an article in it called Women’s Hidden Heart Disease That Kills Without Warning, which she never even read. And even though she has gym membership, she never goes, claiming that she doesn’t have any time. I have told her what will happen if she keeps this up, but I feel like I’m talking to a wall. She won’t put together a healthy diet and fitness plan, even though I know that she’s fully aware of what can happen. I’m afraid that she could get a heart attack or something similar, and I don’t want to see that happen, especially since if she doesn’t survive it, my siblings and I would be orphans. Help!!
