Moms, I Need Help With My Nephew!!!!?
My nephew is going to be 6 years old in March and is 80 pounds. He is pretty tall and heavy. The doctor told his parents he had high levels of cholesterol and and sent him to a nutritionist. The nutritionist gave them a special diet. However, this diet lasted a couple of days and he eats alot. He is very anxious and wants to eat all the time. His mom gives him anything he wants plus big portions. He eats the same quantity as an adult. I go to school and work; however I try to take him to the park everday so he can exercise and lower the anxiety.
Well, how should I proceed? What’s the best alternative? Afterschool sports?
His parents don’t collaborate with me; so I have to do it myself.
I will apreciate your help!!!!!!
What Is Worse For You, Foods With: High Fat, High Sugar, Or High Calories?
The only diet that ever worked for me is The South Beach Diet, which centers around low (and natural) sugars. However it is slightly high in terms of cholesterol. My gf eats a lot of high cal/high sugar foods, but insists she can burn them off with exercise. She drinks alot of coffee so she is always very active. But still, i’m not sure if that is safe. Anyhow we are trying to loose weight so obviously all of the above (fat, sugar, and Cals.) should be watched. But if we had to pick and choose, which ones are worse?
I Need Someone With Medical Understanding.?
I am a 35 year old male. 6’1 320 lb… Married and a father of two children… I am sick almost all the time. Into my mid 20s I was an athlete. When I had an injury that the doctors called a soft tissue injury of the ankle… They treated this by throwing pain killers at me for 7 years until I saw a specialist who told me it was in fact acute gout. I was told additionally I have a genetic condition called hyperlipidima my body naturally makes to many lipids. I was told they were over 10,000. Needless to say they were amazed I was alive. I have normal to low blood pressure. My cholesterol was 280…and is now 200. last time I had it checked. I have an uncler where my esophagus meets my stomach. They gave me a generic form of nexium to fix it. And it did from what I can tell.
I have this wonderful pain in my abdomen like all my organs get swollen and I also at that time double over in pain from cramps, as well as excessive gas and belching some kind of sulfur smelling something… It makes me vomit and have diarrhea to the point I lay on the bathroom floor and just hope if I was to fall asleep I would not wake up. I am tired, angry, cranky, depressed, and at a total loss. I talk to the doctor who tells me to losse weight. So, I try and well when I move it feels like 10000000 pins are slamming through my ankle so exercise is not easy. I can’t swim because I live in a cold weather region. I break bikes…flat out. I have lost 30 lb by diet modification. I cut out sugar and soda. I eat more veggies and less fats and red meat. Mostly because if I don’t I get a massive wave of pain from eating that stuff. I don’t sleep well… I have trouble breathing….I can’t stand for more then 2o min at a time…and if I do I can’t move for 3 days unless u take 800 mg anti-inflammation drugs. I have uric acid deposits in my feet. I take alloperinol for that when I can afford it. I can’t do this anymore. This needs to get fixed or I am a dead man. Oh and I have kidney stones…too…weee.
Is There A Supplement Good For Helping With High Triglycerides?
I had my cholesterol checked this week, and my Dr. said that my good cholesterol (HDL) was high and my bad cholesterol(LDL) was low… but she said my triglycerides were high.
I’m 23 years old. I’m 5’3 and weigh about 105 lbs. I excercise regulary and eat mainly healthy.. I barely eat red meat if ever at all…
My Dr. told me it could be genetics (since my moms side of the family has high triglycerides). The only thing I can think of that would make it go kinda high is my alcohol consumption. I only drink on the weekends though if I do??
I was wondering if anyone knows of a supplement that I could take that has WORKED FOR THEM in helping in lowering triglycerides. I’m getting my cholesterol rechecked in 3 months so I’m going to lower my alchol consumption to about nothing and keep my diet and exercise, but I would like to take some sort of supplement that can help as well…..
Any suggestions from somewhere out there who has successfully lowered their triglycerides??
